Welcome to Cato the Youngest's blog

This blog is dedicated to the War on Terrorism in general, and the danger posed by the combination of Wahoobi fundamentalism and giga-petrodollars, in particular. BTW, the spelling "Wahoobi", instead of "Wahabi", in the previous sentence was intentional. An American politician once said, "I don't care what they say about me, as long as they spell my name right.". Well, when I find someone truly contemptible, I don't even spell their name right. Seriously, Wahoobis show no respect for Western Culture, so why should we respect theirs? Even other Muslims don’t like Wahoobis much, because Wahoobis have persecuted other Muslims whenever they could manage it.

The pseudonym "Cato the Youngest" is derived from the Roman senator Cato the Elder, who was most famous for his campaign to destroy Rome's archrival, Carthage. Whenever Cato the Elder made a speech, whatever the subject, he always finished with what became his signature quotation, "Carthago delenda est." (Carthage must be destroyed). I feel that Cato the Elder's solution to Rome's Carthage problem is applicable to our problems with the Arabs in general, and the Saudi Royal Family in particular.

Cato the Youngest is not affiated in any way with the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank.

Fighting Terrorism Ecologically

The most efficient way to eliminate a species is to destroy its habitat, the environment in which it functions. For example, koalas live in eucalyptus trees, and eat the leaves. Kill all the eucalyptus trees, and you kill the koalas. If we want to destroy, or at least cripple terrorist groups, we need to examine their “environmental requirements”, and destroy, or at least reduce them. A terrorist organization requires a number of things in order to function successfully:

  • A secure base where it can train its operatives.
  • The ability to blend in with the civilian population.
  • Money, to buy weapons, pay bribes, obtain specialized training, etc.

The successful campaign in Afghanistan to remove the Taliban from power deprived Al-Qaida of its secure base and will discourage other countries from providing them sanctuary. Keeping terrorist groups on the run makes it harder for them to plan further attacks.

Western nations are going to have to make it harder for terrorists to blend in. This can be done in several ways:

  • Restricting immigration and other types of visas issued to Muslims.
  • Increasing surveillance of their Muslim populations.
  • Increasing scrutiny of Muslims at sensitive locations, such as airports.

I realize that these measures are distasteful to many. Western Civilization prides itself, with some justification, on its tolerance. But these bastards are out to kill us. I hope that if we can cut off their funding and prevent them from establishing new bases, we can return to a more open society, perhaps as open as we were before September 11.

Finally, we need to cut off the terrorist’s sources of funds. Saudi Arabia provides a significant amount of funding to terrorist groups, through a number of front organizations. Simply closing one, or several, of these organizations is not a long-term solution. The long-term solution to this problem is to separate the Saudis from their oil fields. This will dry up the terrorist’s money at the source.

A Declaration of Grievances Against the Government and People of Saudi Arabia

When in the Course of human Events, it becomes necessary for one People to make war against another, and to seek justice and retribution on the field of battle, a decent Respect to the Opinions of Mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to this course of action.

History has shown, that the American people are more disposed to suffer, while Evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by making war on other nations. But when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to remove the offending Government, and to replace it with one which respects their fundamental rights. Such has been the patient Sufferance of America; and such is now the Necessity which constrains them to remove the Government of Saudi Arabia. The History of the present Government of Saudi Arabia is a History of repeated Injuries and Usurpations, all having in direct Object the Destruction of Western Civilization and its replacement with Islamic "Civilization" .

To prove this, let the Facts speak for themselves.

The Government of Saudi Arabia, lacking the means to develop its oil fields, invited British and American oil companies to explore and drill for oil. And when oil was found, and facilities were built to ship the oil, they nationalized (stole) the oil companies' equipment.

They have conspired with other oil-producing nations to artificially force the price of oil above what a free market would normally pay.

They have used their stolen oil money to pay generous sums to the families of suicide bombers, encouraging others to commit such bombings.

They have used their stolen oil money to establish "religious schools" all over the world, which teach Anti-Western and Anti-American hatred.

They have used their stolen oil money to support terrorist organizations such as Hamas and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade.

They have refused to permit American servicemen, who have traveled halfway around the world to defend their sorry excuse for a country, to hold any religious worship services except Islamic ones.

They have subjected American servicewomen, to humiliating treatment, requiring them to "sit in the back of the bus" with a bag (abaya) over their heads whenever they leave their bases.

The Saudi Government refused to permit the establishment of an adequate security perimiter around the Khobar Towers, enabling a terrorist attack which killed 19 American servicemen.

The Saudi Government has refused to cooperate with American law enforcement agencies in investigations of terrorist attacks.

Fifteen of the nineteen hijackers involved in the September 11 attacks were Saudi citizens.

Much of Al-Qaida's leadership is Saudi.

The Saudi Government was the Taliban regime's principal source of money.

The Saudi Government refused to allow the use of Saudi bases in our campaign against the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Official, government-controlled news media in Saudi Arabia continue to spread the most vile, libelous, propaganda against America, and its allies, particularly Israel.

The Saudi Government continues to obstruct and undermine, by every available diplomatic means, any attempt to end Saddam Hussain's programs to develop weapons of mass destruction.

The Saudi Government has aided and abetted Saudi citizens in circumventing child custody rulings of American courts by allowing non-custodial Saudi parents to kidnap their children and bring them to Saudi Arabia. Saudi courts have consistently refused to honor the rulings of American courts in such matters.

They have refused to allow American citizens, to leave Saudi Arabia. These young women are neither accused, nor guilty of any crime, yet the Government of Saudi Arabia refuses to issue them exit visas.

In each of these cases, we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms. Our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury.

Therefore, it has become necessary to recognise the fact that the Saudi Government, far from being an ally, is in fact an enemy. A treacherous and deceitful enemy, worthy of utter contempt and ruin, as only American armed forces can bring ruin upon a country. We should occupy the stolen oil fields, expel every Arab from within 100 miles from an oil well, and kill any Arab which attempts to approach within 100 miles of an oil well.
